Couch to 5K - Christian Indie Tracks

Hi, I'm Chris, the leader and main songwriter for Buried Talents Band.

Recently I discovered the Couch to 5K (C25K) exercise program.

I used to run 5K's years ago. Since I needed an exercise program this seemed like a good one, to get me into shape to run them again.

Somebody turned me onto a podcast you can put in your MP3 player that allows you to listen to commands to start and stop running during the Run/Walks leading up to a straight 5K. Well, I downloaded one and ran to it, but being a Christian, I wanted to jam to some good Christian tunes while running.

I expected there would be a podcast somewhere that was tailored for the C25K and featuring some Christian music, but I never found one. This could partially be because Copyright Law, the RIAA, and other bodies, not to mention songwriters and bands, don't really normally want their commercial music distributed on the internet.

Duh.

However, there's a group of Christian Indie songwriters that make their music available either for free distribution under the Creative Commons License, or for sale as independent artists on certain sites.

Since I am a Christian songwriter and have many contacts and online friends who write Christian music, I decided to create my own set of MP3 tracks that YOU can download free.

I'll be posting them in here as I get them finished. It will be 13 tracks about 30-35 minutes long, corresponding to the different workouts in the C25K program.

I will give each artist and title in the track, and also give credit and links HERE to their music. Some of it will be available for free download, some will be available for a price.

One thing is certain though, it will all be Christ-centered music from independent artists (at least, unsigned at the time of the compilation.)
